I absolutely loved this latest novel in the Cormoran Strike detective series! It actually was released last fall, but I’m still playing catchup on releases from maternity leave. The dynamics between Cormoran and his Girl Friday, Robin, is excellent, and J. K. Rowling, writing as Robert Galbraith, is absolutely genius. The depth and complexity of the interwoven plot will leave you completely in appreciation of an extremely talented writer and struggling to set this story down.
This series focuses on private detectives Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott who have been sent a woman’s severed leg and must stop a serial killer determined to tie his gruesome crimes to Strike. As they investigate suspects from his past, we get glimpses into Strike’s early life and military, finding out more about his mother’s death which still haunts him. Robin also steps into the limelight as a target for the serial killer, dredging up her past and putting more stress on her already rocky engagement.
This is my favorite in this series so far (this is the third book), and hard to put down once you start reading!
